Custom Archery Camera Mount

Here is a few pics of a custom mount for our cameras we use for Archery and Goose Hunting, Used some 6063 gauge Aluminum thickness was.100, cut the pieces out on a wood band saw ( 1/4" 6 tpi wood blade ) Set them up in a fixture and welded the edge , i put a couple of small short welds in the back corner for added support.( the top weld had to be ground over quite a lot to clear the riser on this particular bow.Took the welded mount back over to the wood shop and fished out the edges on a drum sander, back to the drill press to add the mounting holes (2 sets for different risers) and one set for the camera mount.I buffed the mount down and cleaned it,added some etching primer a little color and some streaks of color to add a little of camo.

Nice looking fab work-looks like a nice commercial piece you could have bought! I'm not a hunter myself so I've got to ask a stupid question are the cameras for action video of the hunt or are they range finding type cameras?

Very nice work. Funny how many tools you need for a simple job like that. Like the camo and the Everlast logo in the last shot.

I like that setup, I've been trying to figure out how to do that with my rifle.

Since cameras have reduced in cost a lot of people are into filming their hunts. There are even hunting shows dedicated to solo hunting and gives you some tips to filming yourself hunt. I wanted to film some hunts last year, but the camera mounts are expensive; not to mention you have to carry it!

Thanks for the camera rundown. It is amazing how inexpensive electronics have become and how small and light. Can you imagine that even ten years ago!

They have really come down in cost , i think that one was like $159.95 and it shoots good video , you need to Use a Class 10 SD card which makes great video.
We use them for filming shots and filming anything we see while out and about.

They sell a mount to fit on your scope that is for small lights and lasers, just adapt it to the mount.You can also take a set of rings and a base to make a mount. Turn the ring mount upside down and mount it to your scope, mount a piece of base or rail to your camera and it will install to the ring mount.

Learned a long time ago when i had sponsors , those logo's in the background go a long way.
