Project 1.325 CGCINC: Simple Pull-up bar

I was bored so I decided to make me a lat pull-up bar.
I have one similar but my wife and I have to take turns when we do our P90x so this will solve the problem.

Nothing high tech, just 1" tubing (1/8" wall) cut at an angle, bent together and welded.
Then some 3/8" plate for the mounts, black paint, and some padded rubber handles and it's done!

Nice! I like how the weld on the bend cleaned up really well. what did you use for the foam handles?

You've got that right. No bumps, no crevices or inclusions. Too bad it was covered up with the foam and paint! Mind you, only a welder would really appreciate that it was originally two bars welded together. Everyone else might just roll their eyes. LOL.

I bought the rubber handle covers from a fitness equipment supplier online. They come in many different lengths.
I actually ground the welds smooth because I planned on putting one mount in the middle and sliding longer handle covers all the way to the mount.
After thinking about it, I figured two mounts would be better at stopping the swaying motion.

I am following the rest of the crew... Really nice job... I really hated to see paint put on top of it.... That is a nice weld and cleanup...

I was thinking the same thing... I am doing some concrete work. I put a approach on the garage door and a patio/porch on the back of the house. Now I am working on the drive. Lot of work on the prep... Getting the slopes right... When ever you go anywhere you look at the concrete and see what was done... One thing I have noticed is that the concrete break lines need to be 1/4 of the thickness of the slab... They very seldom are... And they very often crack... NOT on the break lines... Way to shallow. I have seen break lines about a 1/4" and that is from the "pros". Boy did I get off topic here....

concrete is easy my dad did it and brick laying trick in concrete is wetting and not being in a hurry

I think it all goes to show that in today's day and age, it seems like only the craftsman still appreciates craftsmanship.

As for the concrete break lines, sometimes I think they guy who did it thought the lines are there for looks only! ;)
