My PowerPlasma 50 and 30 pc consumable kit came about two weeks ago and I was missing the stand-off for the S45 torch and two of the torch cups...after an email a few days ago (I was tempted not even to ask as this is a relatively small deal), package showed up today with (3) cups and my stand-off - no questions asked.

Meh scroo those guys...if Miller and Lincoln want to stay relevant, they should bring their prices down. While the whole 'made in America' theme is noble and patriotic in a sense, when actually viewed in the context of limiting innovation, competition, and cost effectiveness, it can be a bit of a ball-and-chain around American manufacturing (whats left of it, anyway) and what this country SHOULD be all about - being the best. I shouldnt have to pay 4x as much to get a machine that at best might be a little more reliable (and this is even questionable, I realize)...in a way, I would actually be supporting this idea that American made products dont HAVE to be as competetive...in essence, de-valuing what we are supposed to be about one dollar at a time by encouraging artificially hyped over-priced products and discouraging healthy competition.

All the electronics parts (for a router table) I have purchased from American companies in the last few months were from China. I could have saved about 15% by buying from China direct!

I agree with you Sprocket... I would be interested in a Miller but for 4 times the cost (or more) the product is not worth 4 times better. (or even their customer service)
I hate going into the lws just to find not a price on anything. How would you like to go to the store and get to the register to see what something costs...

its amazing on how stuff is made i have 2 routers one my grand father gave me bet its over 30 years old made all metal no plastic and works like its new its a craftsman and is heavy as heck, and have a new craftsman probably 3 years old what a piece of junk mostly plastic and is real light . . yes might as well buy china direct since everything is made there , also got a craftsman lathe my grand father gave me it was made in 1936 it a atlas lathe that craftsman sold . still works great and use the heck out of it
You are absolutely right, Sprocket. Whole American industries have fallen because companies have not adapted to the global economy and did not take advantage of what was available to them outside of the US. Made in America only rings true if the quality / price ratio is the best of what's out there - otherwise it will just become the tagline of someone's joke. Adapt or die.Quote:
