From reading the website the only difference is Amps, spot timer, and 2T & 4T start/end amps. Anyone use both machines? I probably would never need 315 amps or 250 amps, but I need to use my coupons to do some upgrading!

There is also higher Hz for AC Frequency, and Pulse. The main issue you will need to worry about is the fact that the 315EX is 3-phase ONLY! Please keep that in mind when you're making your decision.
According to the website. Another difference in the pulse is that the 250EX uses a ratio setting for the background current. Meaning you set the background to a percentage of the main current. On the 315LX it uses direct current control for the background current. Meaning you set the background current directly to a set amperage. I prefer the ratio control myself, I don't think I'd ever need that amount of power, and I don't have access to 3-phase. 250EX is my choice.
I went ahead and prepaid for 210EXT! I never came close to maxing out my 200DX, after talking with Oleg the 210EXT is better suited for me.
Thats great, When I win min, we can compare notes...;)
It's going to be a little while, Everlast is making sure every things A-OK before they release it. I sold my 200DX, had the money, and figured I would be better off to go ahead and prepay. I'll just have to wait! I offered to pre-pay Oleg wanted me to wait until the machines arrived. Better off to have a machine paid for so the money does not fly away!
I have the powertig 250ex and have only used it for tig welding so far but I was wondering on stick welding mode can you use it on ac or just dc. I know dc is better but some sticks are made for ac and you get less arc blow. Thanks very much.
Arc blow is a rare issue. The 7018AC is the only rod I can think of rated specifically for AC stick...and it is still a DC capable rod. People mistakenly believe a 6011 is an AC only rod. In fact it is a DC+ rod that runs well on AC or DC-.
I was reading up on arc blow here:

Are you welding on something that has a residual magnetic field? Just curious what it is...
No it's not magnetic or anything. I was just curious because if you read the powertig 250ex online manual it says about the ac/dc rocker switch in the ac position. That it is mainly used for tig welding aluminium but that some welding rods can be used in this position also for increased penetration and less arc blow. I found the exact part in the manual
"12. AC/DC Rocker Switch. This switch se-lects the use of either AC or DC current. AC current is used primarily when TIG welding aluminum. Certain stick electrodes can be welded in this mode to prevent arc blow and increase penetration."
