New Video out! Jody uses the PP 256 in a real, industrial setting!

So, I'll admit it, as well as being an Everlast junkie, I'm a Jody junkie. His latest video hit my inbox this morning, and in typical (for me) fashoin, I dropped everything and tuned it in. He's using the PP256, 150-ish amps, no pedal just the torch switch in 2T mode, no gas lens, nothing exotic. Beautiful welds, as is the norm for him. His videos continue to improve in quality, especially the arc shots. In this segment, he gives us some real-world, real-time shots of what a 2 second downslope looks like, and explains the effect it has on the weld (no crater at the end). Keep in mind that this guy welds for a LIVING, and has other options as far as brand/model of welder to use, and in this case he chose the Everlast PP256, and it performed perfectly. Goes to further prove that Everlast is up to the task, whatever that may be. I feel this video is the best real-world depiction of downslope utilization that I've seen to date. The part I found interesting was using the mig wire for a spacer, that lets the weld material run under the edge easier and makes for a better weld. Jody's videos are always good.

I've been all over his website and read just about everything. Alot of good info and videos on there!

I thought that was interesting also and would have worried about the wiremetling myself. I guess with it tacked in place it wouldn't move even if the wire did melt.

When I watched the video yesterday, I thought he was saying that the customer wanted a bit more space (slop) seemingly beneath those 1" or so strips (And between them ie the square's blade width) for clearance where something fits between the strips and the main body of the unit. So he added the wire to raise the strips some, like a shim, that he mentioned. I don't think the wire was intended to melt or be a penetration gap, I could be wrong. I thought it a good way to add a known depth of shim, easily, cheaply. His videos are informative and well created.

Any of you guys bought his TIG fingers? I have, they work great, and I would pay that amount just to support his site. I love his plain language, I can imagine us BS's over a beer on his porch!

Yep, that's what he said... customer wanted more space under the strips to get his hardware in.
