EXT250 cooler questions

I have my new cooler for my EXT sitting here and have a few questions

1- There is no power plug on the back of the EXT for a cooler, what is the best way to wire it in?

2- If the cooler is not interlocked with the welder and needs to be switched on manually each time, how does the flow switch in the welder protect the torch if the cooler did not get switched on?

3- Is RV antifreeze OK in Everlast equipment?

4- The barbed fittings on the welder are 8mm the ones on the cooler are 6mm. Where do I get 8mm fittings for the cooler? I prefer to not have extra adapters/clamps in the lines.

1) Easies thing is not use the flow circuit. It was supposed to be deleted and it was not. So all bets are off. I am not sure if they disabled the circuit completely or not. You are the guinea pig on this one. IF it is working, then I think it must detect initial flow before the circuit will engage...or you have to hold one of the select buttons down for 3 or more seconds to turn it on. USE THE CIRCUIT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! If it were me, I would not use it.
2) Don't use RV unless you have to. It will work, but won't hold algae at bay very well.
3) You can either plug it directly into 220V or hook into the switch block on the back of the machine.
4) We do not have 8mm fittings. The tubing will stretch usually. If not you will have to adapt. The cooler we use is a universal cooler...That does mean that it may have to be slightly adapted.

Nope. I've run a few beads and forgotten to turn the water on and it is plenty happy to let power go to the torch.

That's what I am talking about...When the unit is first pressurized, it "may" turn the circuit on. It then watches for the pressure to stop to stop the weld.
The other possibility is that they are turned off. Pressing 3 seconds on the selector button may also turn it on.

Does anyone know the type of fittings provided on the torch. I would like to purchase some of the male ends like provided on the welder to place on my cooler I am plumbing up.

Any word on the fittings. I am trying to locate the correct fittings for the cooler connections so I can add them to my cooler and use the supplied fittings on the tig torch with out running the water through the welder.

No, They aren't standard US fittings. Simply remove the fittings and put something standard on them.

To adapt the 6mm barbs to 8mm hose, I just cut a 1-inch long piece of 1/4 x 5/16 tubing, slid it over the barb and then slid the 8mm tubing over the top of the short tube. A 1/2" spring clamp squeezes both tubes and seals it tight. This is a clean simple way to adapt this.

These are the fittings I used when I built the cooler for my 225 LX. Be carefull thoug and mark them real well as the fitting is the same as the one on the AR line.

I picked up some fittings at the local weld shop. I am going to go have them crimp them on in the morning. I picked up 1/4 inch barbs but it looks like I will need to go with 3/16 inch barbs. I will be using the 5/8" LH threaded connections. Do not see a need for quick disconnects when this is so easy to disassemble as it is anyway.
