This 105 cub cadet is about to get transformed into a dump truck. I started out by stripping it down to the frame so that I could split it and add 3 feet in the middle. The section that was added was made from a piece of 1/8" by 6" by 3 feet long. I took it down to a friend of mine that has a break press. More to come.
Ok, so the next step was to add in the new frame rails.Then we moved on to the drive shaft. It had to be lengthened 3 feet as well. I used a piece of 3/4" cr and turned the ends down to 5/8" to fit the original parts. I also had to add a carrier bearing in the middle to help support the extra length. More to come.
I get the feeling you like cub cadets. Are you going to fishplate the rails? I like the whole idea of building a little dump truck. How many cadets do you have? Looks kinda like your building a small custom fleet. Pretty cool! Gotta love little tractors.
Cub cadets are nice. I have quite the pile of lawn mowers we use to go mudding with and creakin. Its quite fun. I had a 63 cub cadet a while back. It was the 3rd year of the first motel they made. Traded it and a 70 something for a couple other newer working ones. At my grandmas we got a 62 stored away which was the second year cub cadets made these.
Yes I love messing with cub cadets. I have 8 cubs total. Yes I did end up fishplating the frame.
