PP256 Setup Guide
All,
I am trying to put together a setup guide that I can follow when I need to use my PP256. In case someone has done this before, and is willing to share, please let me know ;) .
First I am trying to sort out which settings work in the different modes. Some things are pretty apparent, such as AC freq/balance should do nothing in DC mode. However, other settings are not so clear. For instance, I was reading a thread the other day that said Up Slope works in PAC mode, which I really would not have expected.
I've put together a quick chart, and I was hoping that someone could help me correct it. Take a look at the attached pic, and let me know what doesn't look right. I guessed at a lot of these.
Thanks
Mike

Smaw should work in DC with only the DC and amp control. Pulse and AC/AC features shouldn't work (IF it does its not a problem, just means they've done some rewiring to give some unique features). Every thing should work in TIG, but not all work with the foot pedal, some may need to be turned off. PAC should only have DC, post flow and amps.

Thanks, Mark. I've updated the chart. Regarding TIG settings and the pedal, I suspect that up/down slope and start/end amps are the features that would need to be turned off, since they would be controlled by the pedal.
So, in AC SMAW is the frequency and EN/EP balance normally fixed?
Thanks
Mike

Man, it would be great if some of those features did work in SMAW. I can't wait to try out arc force when stick welding light material.

The pulse does not work in 2T correct? I've never seen it make any difference when I'm on the peddle.

Yes it works in 2T. What are your settings?
