project 4 from ogorir: inner quarter panel patch
This is a '61 bullnose that will be as close to perfect as I can make it when it's done. it's on long term hold because the boss is more interested in go-fast than look-good.
this corner of the tail panel was hit and pushed and repaired, but this section of the inner quarter was pretty weak after being beaten back into place, so I replaced it.

the patch blank. you can see a faint scribe line where the flange needs to be folded over on the inside corner. I used a piece of copier paper to make a template. I usually use posterboard, but I didn't have any.

this is a chunk of leaf spring i found by the side of the road walking home from highschool that I ground and polished one end of. it works great for folding edges over with, especially in combination with a dolly like the second photo

the soapstone mark is where I was thinking of cutting the patch off, I think it ended up leaving it a bit higher.
