tig welding pedal
Does any one know where I can get an affordable upgrade,That will work with my Powerultra 205? Everything else seems to work fine except for the pedal. I had a self enflicked problem that Mike helped to troubleshoot. I was given the wrong gas to tig weld. Gas has to be pure Argon to tig weld mild steel. Thanks Mike! so far the powerultra 205 is a great little combo welder. Someone just needs to rethink the foot pedal. Pedal angle is to steep, spring tension is a bit much.

I've been told these are similar to older Millers...
I have seen a couple of them just about like it. It might be steep, but it provides unusually sensitive control because of its wide arc.

Gary,
Sorry I did not call you back on the pedal question, but I had seen you posted here on the forum and Mark responded after I pulled your voicemail this morning.
The pin-outs are under Tech Bulletins here on the forum.
Post or call if you have any questions.
Take an ohm meter with you when you go to the LWS and check the range.

pedal troubleshoot
Hi Mike, I had already ohmed out the potentiometer. It is a 22k 2watt. I checked it with both the fluke and the simpson. with the simpson I could see where the dead spots on the wiper were, at the beginning of the turn, of course! right where you would be trying to get a puddle established. I have been getting by without the pedal for now. but there are times when you need to start at a low amperage and build the puddle, so you don't burn through!
Mark, I do agree with more control(pedel arc), it is like a large steering wheel on a car!
As far as the potentiometer, side pressure on turning knob is going to make it wear out fast.
Thanks Gary
