I just wanted to introduce my self. I am a hobby welder mig,gas and stick. I like to learn tig welding. I am in the process of replacing floors and quarter panels on my 67 cuda fastback with mig. I wonder if tig welder would be better than mig? Any advise? Bill

Tig will give you better results, and control the warping. Low amp TIG welding is good for thin body panels, and better looking welds with less clean up and filling can be made. If I had the resources to be working on a '67 Cuda, I'd keep the MIG for welding up the muffler (if you use one). Otherwise, I'd take the tig. Tig will be a little slower, but I'd sleep better knowing it was all tig welded.

Thanks for info guess better practice with tig.

Welcome!
One of the many reasons I'm soon to be purchasing a TIG is a 72 GMC project I'm working on. Floor repairs, cab corners, rocker boxes, etc. as well as a ton of custom body modifications. I've done it with a MIG before on other vehicles, but I'd prefer to wait a bit and use the TIG rather than spend the extra time fixing the aforementioned warping and other MIG artifacts.
The nice thing though, on the older cars and trucks, it's nice heavy steel, not like trying to cut a beer can in half and weld it back together like these new cars.
