Bad foot pedal?
I just got my 225LX set up and I noticed that when I plug in the foot pedal, the gas flows continuously and the max amp setting is stuck at 14 amps and I can't strike an arc upon depressing the pedal. When I plug in the torch to run it via the switch, it works just fine. Anything obvious I'm missing does this sound like a bad pedal?

The foot pedal is probably ok, the wiring at the plug could be scewed up.

My foot pedal did something similar . Check the small switch near the heal of the foot pedal to make sure it is "clicking" on and off correctly . Mine wasn't . It was always "on" . All I had to do was to bend the arm on the switch up about 1/4" and the problem was solved . Works perfect now .

Thanks, Mustang. Good catch, and likely its the problem. Seen it before.

You guys called it, it was in fact the switch in the pedal. Just took a little bending and it was good to go. Thanks!

Glad to hear you're back up and running. What are you working on? (The name for this is "vicarious welding").

Mostly motorsports stuff (roll cages, aluminum tanks, etc), that's what I learned to TIG doing and finally broke down and bought my own machine. I also do a decent amount of repair work (mostly mower decks, etc) and work around the farm.
