more torch questions
I ordered 25' torch with my PP256. The welder showed up with the standard blue handled 15' wp18 torch. This is the euro style torch and it's quite big.
The 25' torch arrived a couple of days later. It is marked SR20 , which I imagine correlates to WP 20. It is similar in size to a wp9 air cooled, so nice and compact, just like the torches in Mark's recent post. As Mark said there would be, it has a switch on it. This is just a little plastic switch zap strapped on. At first I planned to remove the switch in order to make the torch a bit less bulky, however I find the switch provides a good finger grip on top when the torch is held from underneath like a pencil.
Also. the switch can come in handy now and then for tacking things in difficult spots. So it'll stay for now.
I might put a short piece of large heat shrink on the torch handle to outer sheath connection. Right now that is done with electrical tape, that looks like it won't last very long.
What is the amperage rating for this small torch (with cooler in use)?
This is a rigid torch and there was no flex neck in the package. Is a flex neck available for this torch?

Glen, My airgas catalog list the Model 20 as a 250 Amp water cooled torch.

That makes sense Thurmond, it was sent out to go with the 250 amp machine.
Hopefully a flex neck is available for it, that would be ideal for my usage.
I can't see a need to ever use the larger wp 18 watercooled torch that came in the box.

Glen, That 18 series is 350 Amp. I think the handle that holds the switch comes off leaving a normal smaller sized handle beneath. I have seen a Chinese seller on e-bay that has VERY low priced heads. Usually under $20 or so delivered. I have ordered plasma consumables from them and I got them in 1 week flat. On the downside though they advertised the consumables as genuine Trafimet which they weren't and got their auctions for those items pulled by e-bay.
