This morning I found the inspiration to throw together a portable camera phone mount to record video in a fabrication environment .... the issues I had with this project were portability, & stability.

I started with an old case for my iphone 3GS & added a strip of industrial strength velcrow... then I p/u a 65 lb. magnet from harbor freight tools for 2.99. Next I welded a piece of 1" x 6" x 1/8" cold rolled steel to the base/back of magnet after sanding both sides with sand paper to ensure a good bond from the velcrow. This project took under an hour, & did not exceed $5.
