Project 10, from scootarida1, desk top tripod

Since I didnt feel like asking around for a tri pod at work, i decided to build my own. Basically is uses .75" angle aluminum that 1/8" of an inch thick. I used two bolts to make the legs go out like a tri pod and a 1/4-20 bolt to hold the camera in place. Altogether it took about 30 mins for me to make. One thing i would have done differntly is to make sure the angles dont interfere with each other so it would fold up. The top part is made out of 1" x1/8" aluminum that i bent to shape. Brandon, Dip the bottoms of the legs in some of the liquid plastic used for coating the handles of tools (non slip grip). Then they will not mar surfaces and it will provide a more stable tripod.

That seems really heavy duty for a camera phone mount.... I imagine you are planning to use larger video cameras with it also...?

Yeah I will have to dip it in that stuff. Im pretty sure I have that at work in a cabinet. Also well it was just a quick solution because it would be faster for me to make something simple like that then wait for someone to find a tripod at work. I actually dont plan on using it for other video cameras and will probably just throw it out or take it for myself after my internship is over. It was made with scraps so it was free to make and onlytook a 1/2hr so its no big deal.

Dude, I love that chocolate mint gum. It doesn't seem like ice cream would make a good chewing gum flavor but I'll never go back to traditional chewing gum!!!

Looks like it is somewhere near "Miller Blue". Great work. Now cut another piece of metal to replace the top mount in the shape commonly used to hold a tig torch
