Ok so I am about to purchase yet another Everlast Mig welder.
I have it narrowed down to two machines The I mig 205, or the new MTS 200s machine. I would like to hear from owners of each about the pros and cons of both machines. I have a 250 ex so the lift start tig is good but not really involved in the decision.

If you have the Imig 200 I would jump up to the Imig 250p, and if I had the money I would jump up to the MTS 400!!! It's screaming my name, but can't really justify it just yet!

I do like the 250 for sure I don't think I have any reason for A MTS 400 at least not as a hobby welder or I could sell the wife on...............;)
To add to the mix I just found a newly listed Lincoln 255c low use hobbyist owned for $1300 asking with wire and a bottle.
Yeah, at the price and the bottle it's hard to pass up. That bottle never looses value!!!!!
I have a 205 and it is a good machine. Runs very smooth. You should know that the 205 is designed to accept only full size rolls of wire. This was something I didn't know about until I got mine. I made an adapter out of pvc so mine could accept a 20lb (I think) roll. The MTS looks like a cool machine to me. The synergic function looks interesting I guess it's kind of like miller's auto-set? If I could do it again I would probably go with the 250p. I guess it just depends on what you need to use it for.
I have used the IMIG 250P (older model) for a few years. If you do a lot of MIG and have the 250EX (like I do as well), I would lean to the 250P. I have a IMIG200 as well. Use them about 60% 200 and 40% 250.
Still waiting to try the MTS/s myself. Mark I think has used the three phase model and liked it a lot. But sounds like you have a good combo started. I like seeing knobs to, though there are presets on the MTS/s.
Are you talking about 45lb spools? They are more difficult to work with, and especially when the wire feeder is mounted up high on a trolley. But in the long run the larger spools are cheaper.Quote:
