Both are air/water compatible. I will check the rating, but I thought it was 300amp +. Mark might know it off the top of his head. Otherwise I will look it up. Surprised it is not on the page yet.

Both the PowerMaster and the PowerTig carry the extremely ergonomic Trafimet/Binzel designed water cooled torches. The parts are interchangeable with weldcraft.

The rating for water cooling on this torch is set at the factory with a 300 amp capability. The factory said it was okay to use up to 160 amps air cooled. It will work at that amperage, but the duty cycle is low when it is air cooled, from my experience.

Here's a picture from the top of the start button, which is not used when the footpedal is engaged. The foot pedal initiates the arc when it is depressed.

If I had to make my choice, it would be difficult. I think having separate units gives the slight edge in my book. But that is MHO. Obviously we sell both, so there is a market for both. The EX has the slight edge on features...if you take away the plasma cutter. But then again that is a major feature...

As far as all-in-one or separate units:

All-in-one units are great. Take up less space, you can take it all with you and only one trip to the truck. Down side, IF something where to died, you are out a welder/plasma for a week unless. If we ID the board and send a new board and still will take about a week to get it but at least you can use the other functions (assuming a inverter problem). Also, you have to swap torches when switching processes.

I have mine as separate units since day one, however, I am thinking about going all-in-one. I have a 3 tier welding cart, it rolls fine with everything on it, but I have to get on my knees to setup for TIG, the TIG will not fit on the middle shelf and I like the MIG on top.

Either type units are good a good choice. I will probably go all-in-one (never thought I would say that) in the next couple months. Space and less weight to drag, and I can pile more things on the carts empty shelves :D The IGBT line being rock solid helps in that choice too.
