Couple of weeks ago I had an issue with the foot pedal. Mike hooked me up with
some parts and the foot pedal now works.
Today I used the machine and the post flow wont shut off. (Post flow is set to "0").
The only way to shut off the argon is to shut the machine down.
Anyone run into this?

This may sound dumb, but will the post flow shut off if you actually set it? 1-2 sec?
Tried that, it did the same thing. It does show
the seconds on the display (but it won't shut off).
Bottom line the only way to stop the
flow is to shut the machine off.

Brian is being handled via EMAILs. So I will not duplicate the response until it is fixed.
I had a similar problem with my PU 205 at first. It was just the spring in the gas valve. Alex told me about this. Apparently there were a few machines at that time that had the problem, maybe yours has the same problem.
I took the valve apart and stretched the spring a little. That fixed it.
The valve with the stretched spring is still in there a year later , works fine.
Alex sent me a replacement gas valve but I haven't bothered to put it in because the original one works fine now.

So now Brian has been told this twice. Once by Everlast support (via email this morning) and once by a customer that had the same issue over a year ago. I told him it is rare, but I am sure that's the issue.
We were doing this via email, then it shows up on the forum. This makes more work for us this way.
He did have other issues as well that are now worked out. Spring should get him going 100%, thanks for the help Worntorn.
Well I figure the guy needs a little help, he's a Medical Doctor running out of Patients PLUS his gas valve won't shut off!:)

I am experiencing a similar problem at the moment with my 200DX (about to try stretching the spring again while I wait for a new solenoid to be shipped). One trick I've found other than shutting off the welder entirely is to take the Argon hose between the torch and where it plugs into the welder and bend it over on itself to put a kink in it. When the Ar flow in the meter starts to drop, usually you can release the hose and the back pressure now causes the solenoid to close. Your mileage may vary, but it's a bit more convenient than shutting the welder down after every pass. I'm not sure I'd want to put the hose under that kind of stress for thousands of cycles, but it works for a few times.Quote:
