Problem PowerUltra 205
Hello all,
I do not know If this is normal But I had a chance to check out the TIG function on my new welder.
I had to get a replacement regulator as the original one was faulty.
I hooked everything up as per instructions.
Only thing I did not do was install the foot pedal.
I tried to start the TIG torch and as It is a new unit I watched the welder for any sparks smoke etc before I flipped my helmet down.
Well directly next to the TIG torch connection to the welder I noticed some blue sparks inside the welder directly behind the connection.:O
I used a flashlight to look inside and it appears to be a small circuit board.
Each time I tried to get an arc I could see this blue glow.:O
I will get in touch with the dealer but being a long weekend here It maybe tough.
Everything else works fine.:D
Arc is good and the Plasma cuts fine.
Thanks for any advice.

YOU HAVE NO PROBLEM...THAT IS THE HF. Its in every TIG welder made with HF start. There are several threads here about this.
Relax, if it works, no problem at all.

Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
I tried to find some answers doing a search in the forums but could not find any.
Anyhow this flashing should it be doing this all the time when you have a TIG weld going.
Never noticed it before.
Thanks,

NO, once the arc is engaged and steady, by the time your hood is down, it will cut out.
