Free stuff is always good, right?
Thanks A/C guy
They are pretty close to me I am in Mint Hill NC and EMI is in Concord about 20 miles away. I think they are in thee same area as a HF and Air gas stores
that may become an expensive trip
Hmm... wonder if they would ship to a welding student?? Thanks A/C
Knowing how many bad welds a student will make, :O I'm sure they would love to send free samples to get you to buy their products.
Just list your school as the business name and put student in the job title box.
BTW, no where does it say "Offer for commercial use only" on the online submittal form.
AC Guy just got me to take the Predator Challenge :D
I just order a trail pack, Kit 4 3" type R.
Oxide00, like said, list your school name as business name. There is a commercial or residential box for the address. I listed business name and home address on mine. I am sure you will get them. I would think they would love to have your school buy a couple thousand a year.
Good find AC Guy. Now the question is the price, I only came back to this thread to get the other brand ($1.60) name mentioned before.
OK :
You talked me into it I have now ordered a pack. I am personally a 3M guy, but it will be good to see if they are any good. I am always open to new ideas. And it is just what my shop needed, one more thing to find a place for. HAHA
We also use the other brand listed on this thread my son likes them and they seem to be more than cost effective.
I ordered a pack of 3 inch type R also.
I am hoping to find out which grit will work best on my DIY tungsten sharpener.
I ordered a pack of 3" type r abrasives. Thanks again A/C Guy!!
hey got my set in yesterday!
look to be decent quality, we'll see when i fire em up later today.
for some reason i didnt post here, but i ordered them right after you posted this acguy, thanks!
Got mine two days ago and they work well, the company is located about 20 miles from me right next to a HF and Airgas LWS store. that could become an expensive road trip.
Ordered kit #1.
Anyone who has recieved theirs have an input on them so far. Did any literature accompany the discs? Just checked their full site and found that they make flap wheels in the predator line, might be something to try out if the samples turn out to be something good.
Still waiting on the trail kit myself. But the price was right, I will keep waiting.
the setup i got did not come with any literature, other than a postcard thingy.
havent fired em up yet, once i do i will post my thoughts on them VS the 3m disks i normally use, i tried some HF ones last year that absolutly sucked. (got them for free, so i didnt complain, just tossed the leftovers away, they were that bad.
Just received my trial package in the mail!!

No, I didn't receive any literature I only received the card that said "Predator Challenge" as shown.
Thanks AC guy I was gonna have to buy some 3" disks anyway so the timing is great.:)
Hello,
Thanks for the post on the free stuff. So now I feel completley ignorant on this. I didnt recognize the two different styles of discs. Ive always used the 4-5 inch discs. Not sure about this. I ordered them anyways just to see if there is anything I am missing. Thanks again
I still haven't received mine. Maybe lost in shipping. It does happen.
NT, The discs come in Roloc type R (male screw on the disc) and type S (female threads on the disc) if that is what you mean? The type R looks like a little plastic screw on them. They are the quick change screw-on type discs. If you do not have a type R mandrel/adapter it is worth getting a couple, HF has them cheap, 3m is like $15. HF has, I think, a $12 set with three discs/grits included.
I just got my free trial package today 4/9/11 that was fast just ordered on 4/3/11. The disks look well made, I will have to put them to work this weekend. Thanks again ACguy
just ordered the 3" set. thanks for the link
