We do have plans for single voltage 110V units.
That would be OK I guess. What I'd like to see is adjustable hot start with timer, and when I say hot I mean HOT! Also adjustable dig / arc force. My Dynasty has the adjustable dig, it's pretty cool, but for a $6,000.00 machine it doesn't have anywhere near as nice an arc as my PowerArc 200. Now tell me how Miller dropped the ball on that one?!!!! :mad:

Nah, that doesn't blow my skirt up! I have 220 in my shop, if I even need to be portable I have 5 of the best SMAW engine drive machines God ever put on this planet. See the one in my avatar?;)
Oh yeah, thats right i forgot the DIG. The maxstars us students are assigned to have a DIG knob which really helps with varying penetration for the 6010 rod. Cant imagine using a maxstar without one (always have a terrible time using 6010 with the maxstar 200 str). Now that would great idea for a future addition!

I can't say I've ever seen a Maxstar. Have you run one of these PowerArcs? If not they sure have a sweet arc. It will run 6010 right there with any of my Short hoods, and run 7018 right there with any of my Red Face machines.:cool:

Yeah I have a buddy waiting for the shipment to come in for his PowerArc 200. He called Monday, they said 2-weeks.
The guy in the booth next to me at my school who is one step ahead of me (passed 6g stainless schedule 10) is on that stuff. He gave up on it yesterday (optional cert) seemed like his 6010 rods kept sticking.
Wait actually I think the stuff he was on was 2" but way thicker now that I think about it.
It's funny how these inverters like different rod. My Dynasty really like ESAB's Atom Arc 7018, but the PowerArc likes Lincolns Excalibur 7018. With the PowerArc you can do no wrong with Hobart's 335-A 6011, I mean no wrong! It also likes ESAB's 10P, and 10p-Plus 6010.
You have to find the joint prep that works for you. If the rod is sticking, you'll have to turn the heat up.
That means a thicker land, and tighter gap.
2-inch sch 80 pipe 5-G vertical up I like a 37 1/2 degree bevel, 5/64 to 3/32-inch land, with 1/16 inch gap, at about 70-amps with 1/8 inch rod. 6-G I'll go with a 3/32 inch gap.

The PowerArcs do have arc force control, but it is what they call "adaptive" which adjusts to the demands of the situation and amps, instead of one preset level.
