PP256 set up
I haven't got my machine yet but I have a few questions about the set up. I believe the PP256 comes with a w/c torch and I was wondering if there is any way I could run the tig if I don't have a water cooler yet? Also probably going to buy a water cooler, w300 and was wondering what kind of power it runs off of and does the PP256 have an outlet on it or do I need another outlet right by my 220 outlet? Also does the welder and the water cooler come with every thing needed to hook it all together?
Thanks Ryan

My advice is no. But you can create your own with a water hose temporarily if you need it. Ryan, there is a lot of discussion about the 256 here and answers to your questions. No outlet. Its 220V.

Yes, there has been no shortage of discussion here on the forum about home-made coolers and such. My advice to you is to pick up and air cooled torch somewhere. You can get a pretty decent one at arczone or similar for around 40 dollars shipped. Make sure you get it with the half inch dinse connector that fits the 256. If you can get one with a switch, it's better, but You arent going to find one with the stock connector. My suggestion is get a cheap air cooled torch and use the footpedal if you are new to tigging. When you want to explore the more advanced functions of the 256 (pulse, 2t/4t modes) you will need a switch. But if you are just learning now, the air cooled torch and footpedal is the best way to go IMO. But like mark said, you can put together a rather inexpensive cooler setup. Just use the search function on the forum and you will find A TON OF IDEAS.
