What You Don’t Know About Welding Systems

April 21st, 2009

When it comes to many of the products we use daily, we may not realize that there are some that would instantly fall apart, if not for a high quality weld. These welds are great in that there are some that will last for years to come. There are some welds that are so strong, they hold together bikes and even cars. These welds can be done manually, but there are some that are done semi or fully automatic. These welds are joined together by some type of welding system.

The variations in types of equipment and sizes, are enormous. You might have a portable semi automatic welding gun or a huge industrial sized robotic arm that will weld parts almost as if it were alive. These welding systems most times have to have some type of human interaction. They all have one thing in common, they must have some type of help from the operator.

It will be the operators that will feed them their specifics for the job they are set to perform. The operator will feed them their materials needed to be welded. The operator will use the controller unit or interface to enter in the specifications needed to bring about a high quality welded product. The specifications will most oftentimes include the size of the weld and any other information to complete the job.

Most welding systems are able to do several well know welding types or processes. They are able to weld using (TIG) Tungsten Inert Gas welding process, semi or automatically. They are even able to cut using a plasma cutting welding system which is when the material is cut by plasma. Plasma is created by the explosion of electrons caused by the heat from the torch.

The power of plasma welding system is awesome! These systems will create an electric arc just as those done manually, except it will be done automatically. They will cut metals at extremely high speeds that will slice metal meticulously and precisely, leaving you with the outcome desired.

All welding systems are great for creating many products in large manufacturing settings. They can produce hospital or medical equipment for their plants. These plants can actually help the medical profession, by its production of aluminum or steel manufactured products. These systems are also able to create household appliances such as dishwashers or washing machines.

They are even known for their production uses in making parts for many industries including; nuclear engineering, ship making parts, aircraft equipment, and the aerospace industries.

Therefore, it can be stated that there are many products that you come into contact with daily that have been made by an automated welding systems. In fact, there are those items and equipment that you use in the workplace in almost all fields, that have been created by a automated welding system.

If you take out the time to really look around you might find that there are at least three of them surrounding you even as you read this article. These are just a few the things you probably didn’t realize about automated welding systems.
