Welding is a wonderful process but it can cause serious injury to the welder if he does not following certain steps to keep himself safe:
• Protect yourself from rags and other flammable items.
• Always wear protective clothes: short sleeves, short pants and even gloves. Welding has harmful UV rays which can create sunburn effect if the person welding has bare skin exposed.
• Wear Goggles if you are grinding or using a reciprocating saw.
• Always use quality equipment while welding.
• Try to use most expensive welding hood that you can afford.
• Avoid using extension cords that are frayed or patched for your welder.
• Never turn off a grinder and simply lay it on the ground in case you need it later.
• Every welder will be at risk of an accident that is still plugged in, even if it is off.
A little common sense can avoid injury and even save lives.
