Wearing loose clothing is a strict no-no as a stray spark may enter your clothes and singe your body. Many experts suggest that an individual undertaking overhead welding must wear a leather jacket over a thick cloth like denim. This ensures that the skin is totally safe from the sparks.

Pay special attention to the quality of glasses used during overhead welding. This may seem like a small point but make sure the welding helmet as well as the glass fit you comfortably. Many a times, the size of the glasses prevents the welding helmet from fitting perfectly. Do not compromise on comfort or fit when undertaking hazardous tasks.
