Helmet serves the purpose of protecting you from heat, radiations and bright light that are produced during a welding session.   • Safety standard for helmets (welding) is ANSI Z87.1 – 2003. Make sure
    yours complies with it.
  • A delay control is capable of keeping the lens dark as long as you want them
    to be after the arc stops.
  • It should be as light as possible. A lighter one will produce less strain
    on your neck.
