Rules and Safety While Performing Gas Welding

Welding is a risky occupation. It may lead to serious injuries or even loss of life if performed without proper care. Follow the below instruction to be safe while welding;

  • Never forget to wear welding helmet and eye gears.
  • Store gas cylinders separately according to their type.
  • Check for leaks or damages on the gas cylinders.
  • Store the cylinders in a well ventilated place.
  • Follow the procedures to turn the system on and off as given in the instruction manual.
  • Equipments should never be exposed to grease or oil as it bears the risk of fire accidents.
  • Always keep yourself protected by wearing leather gloves and jacket.
  • Store the cylinders in a secluded place away from people and clothing.
  • Ensure that you work in a area which is equipped with a fire extinguisher.
  • Make sure you move a cylinder only with the cap.
  • Work in areas that devoid of objects that might get burnt.
