Arc welding is one of the easiest among other welding process. This is other wise known as stick welding. The technical name given for this welding is Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW). The arc welding is easy to handle and is simple enough to understand. The job of this welding is to transform electricity. The arc welding works only when electric arc is kept between two pieces and electrode. The actual voltage given by the arc welding while working is only 20 volts.

The merits of arc wielding are:

• This welding is inexpensive and is easy to handle.
• This requires less space and is portable for carrying.
• This doesn’t need auxiliary gas for shielding.

The demerits of arc welding are:

• The electrode has to be replaced every now and then.
• You need to remove the slang from the welders.
• The deposition rate is lower than the electrode process.
