Here the welder has to continuously feed consumable electrode at constant voltage which should contain flux. You can also use shielding gas which will protect from contamination. Since this process is known of speed these are mainly used in construction. These are light weight and portable.

If you are using consumable electrode for filler metals then you can use these from any position. These can weld even in windy condition. These can weld on all kind of steel. There are two types of flux cored welding where one uses shielding gas and the other doesn’t use shielding gas. These are mainly for thin materials. You don’t have to clean the metal when welding is done with the flux cored weld. The welder here doesn’t need high skill for using this welding. These are also used by the farmers and home makers for welding small things.
