Plasma cutting safety tips are different from welding. While working with plasma cutter keep all the flammable materials at least 35 feet away from the work space because sparks can ignite on flammable materials around your work space. Protect your eyes by wearing safety glasses and helmet. Use clothing made from tightly woven material such as leather, wool or industrial strength work pants. Wear high top leather boots to protect your feet. Do not keep matches or butane lighters in your pocket. Do not keep plasma cutter near flammable gasses, vapors, liquids, dust or in any location which may lead to explosion. To reduce the possibility of fire while working, always maintain a clean dry work area. Keep the torch tip of the plasma cutter pointed away from you at all times.

If you touch an equipment or metal part that is electrically hot it can lead to injury or death from the shock. A person can receive shock from a primary voltage or secondary voltage.
