What is your favorite logo or design? Is it your name or company logo? Is it a phrase you would like to see in metal? If so, you will need a plasma cutter to bring that into fruition. Maybe you want to put your family name in metal, over the garage. Maybe you want to make something that is more artistic, like a sculpture. Or, you might have a much larger job that may require cutting metal beams, like those used in construction. Well, regardless of the size of your job, it is the plasma cutter that can help you get it done.
Now that you know what type of equipment is needed, let’s talk about how they operate. The basics in operational procedures for a plasma cutter, is the force of gas at its highest temperatures, creating plasma. Once you have this energy force and heat, the electrons begin to release their atoms. The electrons fly around at an enormously high speed or rate. The nuclei, that the electrons broke free from are positively charged and become ionized.
This is the energy force behind the plasma cutter. This energy gives this equipment its cutting muscle and makes it one of the most sought out tools to have. This force can cut at rates and speeds that are humanly impossible, which makes their productivity rates very high.
The plasma cutter usually comes with a few basic pieces of equipment, but yours might vary depending on your manufacturer. You will most likely have a power source or supply unit. These units often come with a control interface and valves. These valves will deliver either gas, air, or a mixture to the torch. The torch will harness both the gas and the electricity within its nozzle and the nozzle will bring the electrical arc to the work material.
The electrical arc or the light you see when you watch the machine engaged will do the cutting. This arc is important, but it must have the gases or mixture too. They both will bring high powered action to the source cutting it along with protecting it from any contaminations, such as the air.
The gases or gas mixture will protect the molten metal from being harmed in its delicate state. This is called a shielding gas and is a usual practice for several other types of welding processes or procedures.
These machines have gone through many developments over the years. They have come a long way from their heavy duty industrial or more stationary past. They have become a portable partner you can take with you anywhere and perform your job in most settings thought unachievable.
It is the plasma cutter that will bring an impressionable finish to your intended work material. They are known for cutting with such concise precision, you wont ever want to work without one again.
These machines will often times finish your job in a very timely fashion. They are great for helping any manufacturer with their production rates. Most business owners will be amazed at how fast their product can be produced. They will be happy once they see their bottom line rise, as well.
