Tig Welding

AC TIG is generally used to weld aluminum and magnesium materials. For the best appearance, highest quality and leak free welds on aluminum AC TIG welding is the process of choice.

DC TIG is generally used to weld exotic material like stainless steel, nickel alloys, copper, titanium and critical welds that must be flawless such as aircraft engine parts.

The primary gas used for TIG welding is argon and in some applications as with thick aluminum when additional penetration is needed an argon/helium mixture or pure helium is used. TIG welding offers the user the greatest amount of flexibility to weld the widest range of materials and thicknesses. TIG is the cleanest welding application with a minimal amount of sparks, spatter and smoke.

Tungsten inert gas welding or TIG welding is a common form of welding. To perform this process successfully, a welder must have an understanding of Tungsten electrode diameter, filler metal diameter and welding speed.

To get these details choose the type of metal you will be welding from the first dropdown box and select the corresponding metal thickness and welding type from the second dropdown box. Once you have selected the details in the dropdown box click the Get Info button.[read more...]
