Congrats on a new personal best! Hard to believe you're "not competitive with the rest of the field". 194+ is amazing.

The field usually runs in the 7.30's. Record is 6.94. Best pass this past weekend was a 7.19.

I am making the power to be competitive, I jsut need to get the power down earlier in the pass. Putting power down late will make for big trap speeds, but doesn't really do anything for ET.

I went 150.90 in the 1/8th. Competitive 1/8 speeds are 10-15mph faster. I run ~5.20 while the quick guys run 4.80's in the 1/8th.

Any day on a motorcycle like this that ends just needing parts and labor is a good day.

That is really fast John. Hope you get better and better and remain save. Not a lot of room for error there. Do you use both brakes to stop it at the end?

I guess as an old Harley-type, I'm a little behind the times as far as what's "hot" on the street these days, but I have noticed a trend lately for the crotch rockets to have the same look as this drag bike on the street.
I had a Hard Core Harley guy in the other day for a job and an R1 went by and the guy on the bike waved. The Harley guy said "that was nice looking." I was a little shocked.... Then he said, "Ya know, those jap bikes are built Way better than Harley's... some pretty good technology there!" I almost fell over! I said that's not what I expected to hear and he smiles and said, "Credit where it's due!"

Just like cars, everyone has their likes but they all look good in different ways.
