    Is this deal still available?

Wondering if this and a Everlast Super Cut 50P off ebay (if I got lucky and got it for the opening bid) at $429 ($699 total) would be as good as a Power Ultra 205 ($675 with a 25% discount from the contest).

We still have a couple of available at the discount price. I have a feeling they will be flying of the shelves pretty soon because there is a upcoming blow by blow comparison being done against a major brand of comparible output , and while not knowing the outcome as of yet i for one have a lot of confidence in the quality and performance of this little gem.

As for the PowerUltra 205 compared to the supercut 50 and 140. I like the idea of seperate units but i prefer the cutting capabilities of the PU205 over the SUpercut 50.
I also prefer the Canadian version of the 205 over that of the US as we provide far better quality Accesories.

Well, first you'll need to grow a third arm to hold that face shield while you TIG.

Can't speak to whether the limited time offer is still valid, but another thing to consider is: do you have a preference for functionality in one box, or would you prefer to have the welding separate from the cutting. If a combo machine goes down and has to be shipped out for repair, you temporarily lose access to everything. Are you happy with the specs offered in either scenario?

I keep the hand shield in the carry case as it takes up very little room . I do not however have the tig torch stored within the carry case ,but rather i have 3/32" and 1/8" 7014 and 6013 along with the small chipping /brush and welding gloves.
This way it is very portable and if i happen to forget to have a helmet handy i can always use the supplied mask that is provided.
As of yet i have never had occasion to use it but you never know with my absentmindness i am sure i will need it sooner rather than later.
    Cheers

I think the PowerUltra is the way to go.. I'm afraid the 140 will be too small...

The real pain will be waiting until after the contest is over for the 25% discount.... I could have used a TIG at the house tonight! Must resist going to HF and buying a hunk of crap from them......

Shane, where are you located? Might want to go in your settings/profile and add that. Normally that is part of our contests. Actually Duncan has not filled his in

Anyway. If you are in Canada, they run a tight ship up there. Great people. Another unit to look at (on the cost per amp scale) is the 160STH, I have one and it is really neat for the size. Steel only, but it will take a foot pedal as well. I think that was one of Duncan's pet projects, either way, the thing's great.

I am in North Carolina. I updated it in my profile. Thanks for the heads up, I would hate to miss out on the contest because of something little like that.
