Everything works as expected.
I have not tried the 110V and don't have a stinger to try the Stick function, but all of the rest of the functions work as expected.
At first I was a bit...
I'm no expert, but loud pops usually don't "un-loud-pop" themselves.
I wouldn't plan on doing any welding this weekend.
I would do very small welds about every 3 inches, then come back and add another small weld. Repeat until finished the seams.
Some will say this leads to porosity in the welds, and that may occur,...
Is the "Live" nozzle and other torch components intentional Mark?
Seems a bit odd to have a completely energized gun while welding rather than just the tip and wire.
I have never seen a GMAW nozzle that was energized during welding. I suppose if there was a buildup of spatter or wire from the tip to the nozzle it could happen, but to have it energized...
Pretty cool. net to see people that still practice specialized trades like that.
I have this style for my 200dx and just received (but haven;t yet tried) a new 185 with the newer regulator. New regulator looks nice. Haven;t had any issues with the onl one other than a bit of a...
Looks like it should be a very capable machine to compete with some of the other front runners in the industry.
I just pulled the trigger on a PT185 and wanted to start a thread to sort of discuss foot pedal options for this unit as well as others.

I picked it up off of ebay for $195 shipped with some extras thrown in. It is actually a 3350 (still the big view one, I just typed the model number incorrectly)
I really didn't care about the...
I just received a Lincoln Viking 3550 Foose edition helmet. I'll make some comments once I use it. The size of the view is insane on this thing.
I have a 200DX that I use mostly to fabricate parts for my dragrace motorcycle. It is an older model that uses a different current control strategy with the foot pedal as opposed to the more standard...
Of course....Mechanical Engineers can figure out anything if we need to.
Looks very good Nest. The 100uf signal looks damn clean.
I would imagine even the 40uf signal would suffice for THC
Can you just hook to of the 40uf caps in parallel to test?
I talked with Oleg, but haven't finished the deal yet as I was away racing.
Dual voltage is still an additional option
Foot pedal is not included and is an additional option
SSC pedal was not...
Grab a 200DX, use the supplied pedal and torch to get used to it, then get different ones if you like. Using the larger torch before the smaller torch will make you better anyway. You never know, you...
I'd say go with the 200DX as it seems it should suit your needs.
I have a 200dx that I use for work on my motorcycle mostly. I would have (and still would) love to have bought a dynasty, but fo rme it wasn't worth it. I was driving to a few different friends'...
Dual Voltage: Are all 185's now dual Voltage by default?
Foot Pedal: Is the pedal still an option?
Foot Pedal: What resistance is the Pot in the pedal? 22K?
Foot Pedal: Is the operation of the...
Just trying to shorten the call length as I will be calling during a free minute at work.
...
Also, is there an SSC pedal available for the 185? If not, I can probably call them and get one.
Are the pedal electrical connectors available from Everlast or elsewhere?
John
Well, I have decided it is time to add a 185 to the race trailer so I can fix or tweak my bike. I've added quite a bit of welded components over teh past few weeks and, while I hope they all work,...
I am welding the end tanks onto the core. The core is a bit difficult to heat up and it is relatively massive on the edges. ~ .375" square or so on each edge.
It is realistically closer to...
