Sorry... Trying to run the question up the flag pole before work so I was in a hurry. This part is like a hollow, short, metal, table leg.

I am trying to fill in a threaded section on a tube. Picture a 6" piece of steel pipe. 14mm threaded hole on 1 end and a 3/8" hole on the other. I want to fill in the 14mm hole so I can drill and re...
What do you guys think about cleaning with the roloc or scotch brite discs??? Would they contaminate the metal??? I thought you needed to stick with a stainless wire brush and keep it clean for alum...
I am with you on that. They look like nice welds but don't seem like they have a lot of penetration. Flip them over and see if you see lines where you welded.
Are you making a puddle and dipping...
Wow.. Great... Thanks for the contest... Been busy around here... But I did get the garage clean!!! Now have to see what to spend it on. Thanks...
Here is a short thread on it.

I am around 1/8" to 3/16" and using the thoriated. Seems to work great. Just need to keep the tungsten pretty close but don't touch... If you do, even once, it contaminates the tungsten and you need...
Something to toss in the box... I think there are too many variables on the plug. Some people are using a dryer style plug (that is where they are getting their power from) I have all my 220 welders...
Soap all your connections... Not sure what pressure the Argon is set after the fixed regulator and goes through the flow meter but seems pretty high. (50-80 psi?? Guessing) I have found the screw...
What kind of booster pump??? I have looked into high pressure pumps before and they were quite expensive.
Well up to 523 posts.. and one F/B contest share on 8/19
Man this has gone by fast... I have been pretty busy lately...
That is really interesting... I have never seen anything like that. Built in regulator??? Wonder how they fill it??
You have to be careful with the temp extremes. On a warm damp day if I open the cold garage all the metal tools will be covered with moisture within seconds.
Might want to mark that adapter for welder use only. First time someone plugs that in a 220 outlet and plugs something 110 into that outlet or into your extension cord, something will get smoked. I...
Welcome... And BTW make sure you also have a decent compressor. We have had a few posts lately about the plasma cutters running poorly and looks like people were using little tiny compressors on...
Just wait until they start mixing flammables with oxidizers... I guess that is why they have different fittings, but there are ways around that.
Interesting... There have been a few posts lately with people having a contaminated tank. You would think their would be a little more quality control.
Ben, I just got mine. It is a 200DX also... Nice machine and no complaints. I would say while you are waiting try to find a deal on a straight Argon tank, some filler rod and tungsten. So far I have...
Harbor has some wire... http://www.harborfreight.com/0023-inch-er-316-stainless-steel-welding-wire-2-lb-roll-42921.html
Pretty expensive for a 2lb roll. Wasn't sure if you have one close by. If...
Good idea... BTW what would the weld look like with Argon co2 mix??? Just curious if their is co2 in it.
Ah nice to know... So many threads on the internet about problems, then you have a similar one, stumble across the thread, and they never came back to say what the fix was.
I don't think that as much as wear out as maybe get dirty.
Also The points are used for the HF starter arc. It sounds like they are working. It looks like there is another problem. Why is it...
Make sure you get some before pics... I always think I won't do a good job, just a fix and afterwards wish I would have taken some before pics.
You could probably get a chunk more than that for scrap.... Nice find... I always seem to miss out on those. Wonder how long it was sitting??
People don't know about the dangers of welding galvanized... That is pretty bad stuff too...
