If your foot pedal is like mine, with the screws on the bottom, Ray from Everlast Support gave me this tip. Get a piece of non-slip rubber with an adhesive back (got mine from Home Depot) and cut it to fit on the bottom of the pedal to protect the screws. Here what mine looks like.

Wow. Home Depot sells that? Pretty nice. I think I can probably find some use for that product. Good find!

The rubber sink/countertop liner material also works great with a little rubber cement. I think skateboard tape is unbeatable for the footpedal side. S/F.....Ken M

E6M never had a problem with my foot slipping off the pedal, but skateboard grip tape is a good idea if my foot starts to slip.

Wait til you try adjusting it with your knee or some other contorted crap:)

I use it mostly on pistols, but it comes in huge sheets, so it's been pressed into other uses. Edges of stairs, old folks shower/bathtub, the uses are endless. S/F....Ken M

Been there, done that. Elbow, side of head, etc. It really sucks not having a torch switch in times past.

There's just a simple pot and switch in the pedal, right?

Pistols???? I though Chi town banned all those.... Years back I drove there to pick up a shotgun on sale... They asked for an IFO card... I said WTF??? Had to go home empty handed...

Yep, skateboard tape on pistols is very nice if you wear gloves while shooting. Gloves are very important if you don't like torn up/burned fingers. Typically it's a lesson that most folks don't get until after they needed it. Shooting a gun setup for gloves with bare hands is tough if you're not a working man with working man's hands, but that's life.

I don't live in the city anymore, and the laws have changed recently regardless(still fighting in the courts). To be honest, actual enforcement is very lax, which leads to a general contempt for law in general. You may have noticed that dynamic in the politicians we recently sent to the national level;) If you're from out of state, you don't need a FOID for rifles and shotties, but most shops don't know that, not that they'd bother risking the ire of the state gestapo even if they did. I'd think the OP as regards which department in Home Depot he got the non-slip from?

The pad at my local Home Depot is from the department that has the trailer hitches, balls, bungee cords, and truck tie-down stuff.

Found These at HF Tools the other day for $2.00 ea the rubber tread plate design is pretty aggressive .
They are 4" x 17" with the adhesive backing.I think there are a lot of applications for this.

I have seen those here at our HF, never bought any. I like the diamond plate look on the rubber. I use the grip tape or kick tape (skate board stuff). I have a few 50'x8" rolls of it.
