If you’re looking for a simple, but versatile TIG/ GTAW welder, the PowerTig 200 DX is a great starting point. It has all the “big” features you could want. It has both DC and AC welding capability, with fully adjustable AC frequency and AC balance control. The adjustable pulse mode is there for when you need to weld difficult, heat sensitive metals and is fully functional in AC and DC settings. The Lift arc or High Frequency start are easily selected with a flip of the switch located on the panel. And the 200 DX can be operated in either panel or foot pedal controlled mode. The panel control mode offers 2t or 4t operation at a touch of a button. With the duty cycle of 35%, this welder can keep up with any inverter welder in its class.
Don’t be fooled by the machines simplicity by the lacking features of its bigger siblings. The PowerTig 200 DX is fully capable of handling about any welding job up to ?” in a single pass. This is all that is typically required to make a maximum quality weld in most circumstances. This tough performer still outpaces the duty cycle of $4000.00 machines from the competition while making a equally competent weld. If you’re new to welding, or wanting to step out on your own, this is an excellent first or even second machine, with the full capability to weld aluminum, stainless or mild steel at almost any thickness. |
