The AC/DC pulse design of the PowerPro 205 offers the same quality welding capability of Everlast’s popular PowerTig series as well as offering quality cutting performance through its built in plasma cutting function. Although it’s the "entry" level unit in the PowerPro series, you do not sacrifice welding or cutting performance for the price. You have 200 amps of IGBT inverter powered welding performance and 50 amps of IGBT inverter powered cutting performance, more than enough for the typical welding job, whether it’s welding aluminum, stainless, or mild steel. A favorite choice for portable welders not wanting to buy an expensive High Frequency box to add to their welders, the PowerPro manages field tasks quite easily.
One might think that the welding and cutting features of the PowerPro 205 are compromised when compared to PowerTig and PowerPlasma series, because it is a multi process unit. No, rather, both the welding and cutting capabilities each compare favorably to the independent, separate unit. Although a dedicated unit like to PowerTig or PowerPlasma may be better suited to a production environment, the PowerPro has its own place in the industrial workplace, thanks to the convenience and portability it affords.
For the pro or hobbyist interested in aluminum welding, this unit is ideal with it’s pulse TIG design and 2t/4t panel or foot pedal control The easy starting and stable arc of the PowerPro 205 whether in DC or AC modes typically draw high praise from Everlast customers. The wide range of the AC balance control and AC frequency control allow you to customize the welding arc while welding AC. The pulse mode offers excellent heat control on thin or heat sensitive materials while welding. Complementing the versatile tig functions, the arc force control in the stick mode stabilizes the arc in out of position stick welding when a short arc length is required.
The Plasma function adds the final dimension to the PowerPro 205 with its easy to use blowback torch design with pilot arc. With 50 amps of cutting ability, quality cuts can be obtained up to ¾”. Higher severance cuts for those times when a cut through must be made are obtainable as well, although speed and quality will be lower. The built in plasma cutter handles all metal types including aluminum. |
